Diane Berie, MD
Dr. Diane Berie, M.D., owner of Mindful Medicine, Inc. since 2003, is an Integrative Holistic Psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine since 2010.
Dr. Berie is now, also, the CEO (Chief Em-Powerment Officer) of her new entity Emotionally Powered 4 Life-- a culmination of learning and listening to people for nearly 20 years. Dr. Berie's motivation to understand human behavior started long before her formal training in Psychiatry. Her deeper desire was to help people find peace and reduce the amount of unnecessary suffering in their lives. This took her on a journey of awareness of many healing modalities which can support the mind and body. Traditional medicine and medication, she learned, would stabilize mental illness symptoms, however, many people still experienced emotional suffering. Learning about lifestyle changes such as nutrition, exercise, yoga, and meditation also helped, yet there was still suffering. Orthomolecular Medicine, Functional Medicine, Eastern Medicine, and genetic testing can impact wellness in ways that traditional medicine cannot, yet, there was still suffering. Therapies such as EFT and EMDR have been immensely useful for treating the stuck emotions of PTSD and many other conditions; however, people still experienced suffering. What was the source of all this suffering?
"In life, there is pain; suffering is optional."
The suffering that Dr. Berie has observed with people over the past two decades (and most of her life) seems to be caused by many factors including, but not limited to:
- the disempowered ways we communicate with ourselves and others which limits or ability to get our needs met
- not understanding the vital importance of our feelings which are signals of underlying unmet needs
- not being taught simple skills to manage the emotions that come with life's challenges
- not understandong the impact of our word choice in communication
So, what is the solution? Throughout the years, Dr. Berie has found several pieces to this puzzle, assembling them into Emotionally Powered 4 Life. This program does not discount anything you are doing or have done which has proved to be successful for you in achieving health and well-being in your life--nutrition, movement, balanced neurochemistry, sleep, and spiritual practices all still matter. This program is to enhance and fill in the gaps of learning in areas of life which have largely not been taught or valued in our society. Filling in these emotional gaps can create more ease and joy in your relationships, your work, your health, in achieving your goals, and in navigating the ups and downs of life.
Emotionally Powered 4 Life is a journey, a continual process of...
Growing in self-awareness -- how you tend to respond to stress; how you perceive your experiences of life.
Understanding your values -- consciously identifying what really matters to you and what motivates your choices and
behavior.
Developing skills to navigate through life -- reducing assumptions; not taking others' words or actions personally.
Loving and deeply connecting with yourself and others -- creating authentic, harmonious relationships by learning the
impact of your word choice and implementing Empowered Communication skills.
Utilizing support and collaboration for greater, positive impact -- use win-win thinking and the habit of synergy.
Emotions are a powerful, essential element of the human condition.
It is time to become Em-Powered... Emotionally Powered, 4 Life.
